Skin Cancer

Skin Cancer

There are different forms of skin cancer that can occur due to genetics and sun exposure.

  • Basal Cell Carcinoma - is the most common form of skin cancer that occurs in sun exposed areas such as the face, scalp, ears, neck, chest, shoulders and back. This type of skin cancer is not life threatening, however, can be disfiguring if caught in the late stages.
  • Squamous Cell Carcinoma - is a form of skin cancer that can be life threatening if it is not caught in the early stages. It can also be disfiguring and can occur in areas of sun exposure and non sun exposed areas as well such as inside the mouth and genitalia.
  • Melanoma - is one of the deadliest forms of skin cancer. This form of skin cancer can occur anywhere on the body and can also grow within existing moles.
